Ditrel underwater connector installation

Ditrel Industrial has developed a solution for rapid electrical connections between submarine cables and floating energy-harvesting platforms in marine environments. Its objective is to reduce associated costs by simplifying maneuvers and avoiding the use of large vessels and specific underwater vehicles, thus saving time and money. Furthermore, this solution allows for rapid electrical disconnections and reconnections to facilitate operation and maintenance tasks.

The connector family is called KONEKTA2 and, thanks to its innovative design, allows for the use of standard land-based terminals at sea, as well as non-specific work vessels, reducing manufacturing and offshore handling costs compared to other solutions.

This solution is based on patent EP2784364B1 and has been validated in four different demonstration projects. It has the following certifications:
